But even before details are clear about the latest proposal to put the first privately owned magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine in Saskatchewan, it has renewed debate about the private-sector's role in the province's health-care system. The recently elected Saskatchewan Party government says the idea of private facilities delivering some publicly funded health services isn't new, but any proposals to expand what's currently done would need to be closely examined.
